Dr Bettina Lythgoe, Ph.D., B.Agr.Eng, Dip.Ed. grew up in Argentina, the daughter of European parents. After graduating from high school she backpacked through Europe for a year, and later cycled through Patagonia, and hiked across the Andes. Later still she hitched a ride with the Chilean Navy to the Antarctic, before coming to Australia, where she gained her doctorate from the University of Melbourne in plant physiology and agronomy.
She met her husband at the Port Fairy Folk Festival, and has been tutoring and coaching senior mathematics for eleven years. In 2015 she has been teaching senior mathematics at Candlebark.
Bettina is trilingual, speaking English, Spanish and German. She is married with two young children.
